About Advanced Wireless Group (AWG)

Founded in 2004, Advanced Wireless Group (AWG) installs, manages and integrates wireless Internet networks into airports and other large venues.  AWG is the industry pioneer and leading operator of complimentary and Hybrid airport public Wi-Fi networks in the United States. The company was founded in 2004 specifically to address the opportunity to incorporate advertising and sponsorship into public Wi-Fi to provide augmentation of, or a complete alternative to, paid Wi-Fi access in airports.  The company’s first airport Wi-Fi deployment was at Boston-Logan International where they remain the current operator having just been awarded a new five year agreement through 2017.  AWG is an LLC registered in the State of Florida with principal offices in Miami, Florida.

AWG Wi-Fi

The company possesses extensive experience in operating three business models common in airport venues; Complimentary, Paid and Hybrid (offering both Complimentary and Paid options).  More importantly, AWG possesses unique firsthand experience with the effects and impacts of converting paid networks to Hybrid and Complimentary models and the inherent infrastructure improvements required to maintain a quality service offering.

For airport operators, AWG creates a new revenue stream by coupling public WiFi Internet access with advertising, sponsorship, and media content, reaching key demographics through new media in a controlled setting.  AWG currently operates public Wi-Fi services in Sixteen (16) US airports including Baltimore (BWI), Boston (BOS), Buffalo (BUF), Burbank (BUR), Charlotte (CLT), Detroit (DTW), Indianapolis (IND), John Wayne (SNA), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), Minneapolis – St. Paul (MSP), Oakland (OAK), Omaha (OMA), Providence (PVD), Sacramento (SMF),  and San Diego (SAN) as well as a mixed use office/mall facility in downtown Boston.  In addition, AWG has been chosen to operate the public Wi-Fi services at Phoenix (PHX) and will be operational in the first quarter of 2014.  The combined airport networks offer wireless Internet access to over 298 million passengers annually.
